ACT Wildlife rehabilitates injured, sick and orphaned native animals to return them to the wild. Our interface with the public is our 24/7 phone. The day is broken into several shifts and you would be required to have our phone diverted to yours for a shift a week, a fortnight or month, depending on your availability. You will be working from home and have access to our online database to record calls.

This project evaluates humane, evidence-based management of free-roaming cats. Volunteers will support research that informs national policy, advances One Welfare outcomes, and improves understanding of relationships between cat populations, biodiversity, and community wellbeing.
The University of Newcastle has an independent Animal Care and Ethics Committee (ACEC) which oversees the care and welfare of animals used in research and teaching. The ACEC is made up of both academic members from the University and people representing a cross section of the community (e.g. lay people, veterinary scientists, animal welfare representatives).
